Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
TINEK LLC ("TINEK," "we," "us," or "our") operates tinek.us. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling information about you responsibly.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect, how we use it, who we may share it with, and the choices you have. Please read this policy carefully. By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy.
This Site is currently a pre-launch marketing website. The information we collect today may be more limited than what we collect once full products, services, or accounts become available. This policy is written broadly to account for future growth.
2. Information We May Collect
a. Information You Provide Directly
When you interact with the Site - for example, by submitting an email signup form - we may collect:
- Your name (if provided)
- Your email address
- Any other information you voluntarily submit through a form or contact method on the Site
b. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device type
- Pages visited and time spent on the Site
- Referring URL (how you arrived at the Site)
- Clickstream data and navigation behavior
- Date and time of visits
c. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Site, analyze usage, and support our marketing efforts. See Section 6 (Cookies and Tracking) for more detail.
d. Information We Collect in the TINEK App
If you create an account and use the TINEK app, we collect and store the information you put into it, including:
- Account details - email address, display name, and a securely hashed password
- Property data - property boundaries, map markers, regions, trails, stands, feeders, and other features you place on your map
- Location data - the coordinates attached to your properties, markers, and sightings. We use the location you place on the map; we do not track your device in the background
- Wildlife data - sightings, harvests, field signs, buck profiles, journal entries, dates, times, and any notes you write
- Photos and uploads - trail-camera images and other photos you upload
- Usage analytics - which screens you open and how long you spend on them, so we can see which features are worth building on
- Subscription and billing status - your plan and its state. Card details are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers
In short: yes, we collect and store the data you enter into the app. The app's predictions are built from it, so it is the core of how the product works.
e. Artificial Intelligence Processing
TINEK uses artificial intelligence, and some of that processing happens outside our own servers. Specifically:
- Photo recognition. When you upload a trail-camera photo for identification, the image is sent to a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic's Claude API) to identify the animal and read details such as species, count, and antler characteristics.
- Field-sign analysis. Photos of tracks, rubs, scrapes and similar sign are sent to the same provider to be identified.
- Written insight. Your hunt context - weather, season phase, and summarised sighting history - is sent to the same provider to generate the written analysis and stand recommendations you see in the app.
- On-device and on-server models. Some analysis runs on our own infrastructure without leaving it.
We send only what the request needs. We do not send your email address, name, or payment details to AI providers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We may use the information we collect for the following purposes:

5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We use third-party services to run TINEK, and your information passes through them. The categories and the providers we currently use are:
- Hosting, database and file storage - Microsoft Azure. Your account, property, sighting and journal data and your uploaded photos are stored there.
- Artificial intelligence - Anthropic (the Claude API), for photo identification, field-sign identification, and written hunt analysis. See Section 2(e).
- Weather data - WeatherAPI and Open-Meteo. We send coordinates to retrieve conditions and forecasts; we do not send your identity.
- Mapping and imagery - Esri / ArcGIS, which serves the satellite basemap in the app.
- Payment processing - our payment processor handles checkout and card details directly. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Email delivery - to send sign-in codes, password resets, renewal reminders, and updates you have opted into.
These providers may change as the product develops. We will update this list when it does. Providers are permitted to use your information only to provide their service to us.
These service providers are permitted to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us and are expected to maintain appropriate confidentiality.
We may also disclose your information:
- If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of TINEK, our users, or the public
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case your information may be transferred as a business asset
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Site. Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. We may use:
- Essential cookies - necessary for the Site to function properly
- Analytics cookies - to understand Site usage and performance (e.g., via third-party analytics tools)
- Marketing/advertising cookies - to support promotional efforts, which may be added as the business grows
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain Site functionality. By continuing to use the Site, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to provide communications you've requested, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
If you request that we stop sending you marketing emails and delete your information, we will make reasonable efforts to honor that request, subject to any legal retention requirements.
a. Photos and Uploads
Uploaded photos are not kept indefinitely. When you delete a sighting or photo, when you delete your account, or when an image ages past our retention window, the image file itself is deleted from storage.
b. Data Points We Keep to Improve Our Models
When we delete an image, we may keep the data points derived from it - for example species, animal count, estimated age, antler characteristics, the time of day, the weather at the time, and the season phase - along with the readings our AI produced. These records are stripped of the image itself and of anything identifying you: no email, no name, no account identifier, and no precise coordinates.
We use these de-identified records to measure how accurate our predictions were and to train and improve TINEK's own wildlife-prediction models. This is how the product gets better at reading patterns over time.
What this means in plain terms: your photos get deleted; the anonymous facts learned from them stay, and they are no longer tied to you or to your property's location.
If you would rather your data was not used for model improvement at all, email us at tinekhunting@gmail.com and we will exclude your account.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. However, no data transmission or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information, and you provide it at your own risk.
If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us promptly at tinekhunting@gmail.com.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, please contact us at tinekhunting@gmail.com.
10. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external sites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
